High Helbeck is a mixed sporting estate set in the North Pennines.
The Helbeck estate has been in the Blackett-Ord family since my late father inherited it in 1952.
The shooting at High Helbeck includes some of the most challenging shooting in the country. Our fast grouse and high pheasants and partridges have made even the best shots go weak at the knees.
The land over which we shoot includes some 4500 acres of stunning country in the North Pennines in Cumbria. The lower ground comprises areas of ancient woodland which are scientifically important in their own right due to the rare plants, birds and red squirrels that make it their home.
Focussed around the steep sided Swindale Beck our partridge drives are well known for being both very lively and extremely challenging. Higher still we have a small moor which is ideal for small driven and walked up days.
None of the above would be possible without that fantastic team that we have on the ground. Ben, Vickie, Harry and Daniel are devoted to the work that they do and to ensuring that a day at High Helbeck is a truly memorable experience.
At High Helbeck we strive to bring together exceptional shooting, glorious country and seamless hospitality. Whilst many of our teams come back year after year we are always pleased to see new faces. Any suggestions as to what we can do better are always welcome.Ben Blackett-Ord
