Pheasant shooting

Our pheasant shooting starts in the middle of October with our larger days falling in November and December.

Typically we look to do 250 bird days but we are happy to do larger or smaller days if required. We can alter the format of our days to suit the level of experience and skill of the guns.

Mist covered veteran woods offer steeple scraper pheasants in breath taking country with fantastic views. Steep sided valleys floored with rocky streams and waterfalls offer swirling partridge skipping in and out of range in the cross wind far above. Fantastic shoot team are helpful and friendly, lacking all the pomposity and self-importance that shoots of this quality so often suffer from.  Helbeck has it all; fabulous shooting, magnificent country and a welcoming family feel. Is there more sought after invitation?

January 2016

Helbeck has everything. In addition to being in stunning countryside at the head of the Eden Valley it is one of those rare places where you can shoot grouse on the moor, rocket partridges off the middle ground and pheasants in the woods lower down and just because its lower down don’t think the pheasants are any less challenging – they aren’t. And if you still haven’t had enough there are some very interesting ponds in the hills where you might find teal flighting in.
Keeper Ben and his merry team are most welcoming and each time I have been there the day has always been well executed but with a nice relaxed atmosphere.  To my way of thinking Helbeck has that little bit of magic that makes it  a very special place.
